Laser Cut

For the flyer, we decided to encompass the two main aspects of the processing program, so we brought across the digital pattern onto wood.
Seeing as i had experience with the laser cutter this flyer was left to me, i really enjoyed this process. Its different designing with laser cutting in mind because you have to take out all the colour and work solely with black and white, stroke height etc because those are the only things that will make a difference in the visual when laser cutting.

I took the two designs through that we settled on and tried to produce them, this was actually harder then i thought it was going to be because it was hard getting the laser cutter to register the material for some reason..
and when i brought my files across for some reason it kept the design from the previous user so it just brought it in and linked it with my design which was annoying as i had to go and delete the design bit by bit.

We'd previously been down and settled on an appropriate stock, we wanted the wood to be thin and pliable, so it was lightweight and people could carry it. We went through their stocks and settled on ply 1.5mm. It can handle the detail really well and it is exactly the texture we were looking for.
