Processing Brief

Ailsa and I decided to spend today really getting the processing brief together, seeing as this is a much larger brief for Ailsa than it is to me i took the smaller jobs and we have broken it up like this:
Ailsa:
Posters
Format
Pattern / Illustration
Branding
Publication

Robyn:
Type/Branding
Flyer
Content - Layout for flyer
Processes
Publication

Then we are pulling together to create the publication layout that we want.

By allocating the brief like this it means that we both have our own focuses and expertise and we can then bring them together in an effective way.

My idea for the type after doing the research was to take the source code from the website and edit it and switch in the information. I think this is a good idea because processing is made up of using code, and i think its a different way to delivering information. It forms a structure and an automatic layout and process to manipulating type. I think its different from making a generic poster.
Combined with Ailsa's geometric patterns, i think the two combined will create a really intricate/delicate image for the posters and promotional goods.

By combining both the type and the patterns that will be the focus of our branding, the type layout and choice as well as the patterns will create a continuity across the promotional work / exhibition / publication.

Below are my first examples of editing the source code to make it more legible and readable as form of informative and promotional material.
Using similar colours from dreamweaver I have edited the type and highlighted certain things to make them stand out from the rest of the coded material. This way it won't appear as confusing as it looks.

<p>Processing is an open source programming language and environment for
people who want to create images, animations, and interactions. Initially
developed to serve as a software sketchbook and to teach fundamentals of
computer programming within a visual context, Processing also has evolved
into a tool for generating finished professional work. Today, there are tens
of thousands of students, artists, designers, researchers, and hobbyists who
use Processing for learning, prototyping, and production.
